CITY MAP TODAY

After the Union of Italy (1860) with the first town plan: Beruto Plan, Milan becomes the Milan we see today: it was decided how to organize the structure of the city and most of the canals were closed.

Today, the traces of the three city walls are still clearly legible in the urban layout of Milan.
Of the Medieval Walls we can see Pusterla di Sant'Ambrogio which is located in the homonymous square.
Well-preserved remains of theSpanish Walls are visible along Viale Vittorio Veneto near Porta Venezia.
